 Snow’s Home and Garden
announces the purchase of Bates Hardware at 704 Main Street.

ORLEANS, MA (March 14, 2011) – Since 1887, the Snow family has been in the business of “accommodating” customers and the tradition continues with the purchase of Bates Hardware from John and Sandy Gregg. This new store - the first Snow's has opened in nearly 125 years - will accommodate the needs of Harwich residents and contractors close to home.

Sid Snow, President & CEO says, “We are very excited to offer the local homeowners and contractors the finest paint and home merchandise as well as providing expert service from our friendly, knowledgeable and experienced Snow’s staff. With our expansion to a second location in Harwich, customers won’t need to travel as far for that excellent shopping experience Snow’s is known for.”

The store will remain open for business while interior improvements to both the inside and rear paint area get underway. Sid says, “We didn’t want the customers to go one day without purchasing what they needed. So we hope they understand some inconvenience during this transitional stage.” The store hours will be the same as in Orleans.

When the renovations are completed, Snow’s Harwich will have the same charm and friendly atmosphere as Snow’s in Orleans.  Signature Benjamin Moore paint will be offered in addition to a wide assortment of home décor items. Sid says, “The selection is expected to grow and change as we talk to the customers in Harwich and find out how we can best accommodate their needs. Obviously we cannot stock everything we have in our Orleans store, but we wish to carry the products most desired.”
